Psynopsis vs JotPsych
JotPsych is a behavioral-health practice platform: notes, e-prescribing, scheduling, telehealth, billing and credentialing in one login, for prescribers and therapists alike. Psynopsis is a psychiatric AI scribe that works inside the EHR you already have. Here is how the two differ for a prescribing clinician, with every JotPsych claim checked against its own site.
Choose Psynopsis if…
- You prescribe, and dose accuracy — each change reconciled against the previous plan — is the thing you will not compromise on
- You want to keep your EHR and add a scribe, not migrate a practice
- You need post-session dictation for patients you would rather not record
- You handle substance-use records and need 42 CFR Part 2 handling built in
- You would rather pay $75 a month than $135–269 plus add-ons
Choose JotPsych if…
- •You want notes, e-prescribing, scheduling, telehealth, billing and credentialing in one system, on one login
- •Payer-specific audit checks and code suggestions (99214, 90833, 90785 flags) are your main pain, not the note itself
- •Your practice mixes prescribers and therapists and wants one platform for everyone
- •You want a mobile recording app and English notes from sessions held in any of 16 languages

The difference in one visit
A platform records what you said. A psychiatric scribe checks it.
Both tools will transcribe “increase sertraline” and “continue lamotrigine.” Psynopsis also reconciles each dose against the previous plan and the usual psychiatric range, so a lamotrigine that was 200 mg on 12 May and is drafted as 20 mg today is flagged before you sign — not discovered by the pharmacy.
See medication managementBottom line
JotPsych is a serious practice platform. If you want billing, e-prescribing and audit checks in the same login as your notes, it earns its price. If you are a psychiatrist or PMHNP who wants the best possible note inside the EHR you already run — medication reconciliation, MSE and SI/HI handled natively, and a no-recording option — Psynopsis does that for $75 a month. Either way, every AI note is a draft you review before signing.
